East Pasco Education Academy at James Irvin (formerly James Irvin Education Center) was officially opened in 1995. James Irvin, the public servant the school was named after, gave selflessly of his time, money and talents as he volunteered with many community organizations and youth activities. He raised money to fund black schools in Pasco County and was a tireless advocate of improved race relations.
James Irvin was always looking for ways to help people. “As long as I live, I’ll want to help other people,” he said. “I get a kick when someone asks me to do something for them”.
Our school continues his legacy through a mindset that all students can learn and have a right to quality education.
